Moving up in the world

For the past year and half we have been renting. The condo is more then enough space for two people, quiet neighbor hood, and oh yeah the land lord is really awesome as well. Well the time as officially come for us to exit the condo life, and yes that does mean the luxury of not mowing the lawn, as well snow blowing the driveway in the winter and into the world of mowing a lawn, not just a little lawn, but good size. We are the owners of a lawn that equals an acre and a half. If you have not guessed it by now we bought a house well kinda. Right now the contractor bought it, and once he updates it then we buy it from him. We have been looking on line for a while, just to see what was out there. For the past month we have been walking through houses with the realtor. Well we found a diamond in the ruff. It is a great house with lots of space, and a huge backyard. For the next couple of months we will be working with a contractor as he works on the house. It is a really exciting adventure. In my next post I will posting a few pictures. That way everyone will see the before and after. Let the work begin!

Art Prize

For the past two years or so Grand Rapids has a huge thing going on downtown called Art Prize I went last year and LOVE it, so this year we went again. It was just as great as last year. We saw a sculpture made out if encyclopedia pages, a bridge made out of pop bottle tops, a huge chair and I mean huge chair, and a lot of other neat art. Pictures to follow, I just don't have time due to a birthday party for my sister in law, hopefully tomorrow. One of my favorites was the monkeys hanging from the bridge. The only down fall, is that it is basically all over Grand Rapids that you really don't know where everything is, not only that but it is so busy everywhere, so there is some art that we missed, but I think it might be impossible to look at every piece unless you had like the whole afternoon and had your route all mapped out.
Last year we got luck enough to find free parking, so this year that was kinda of the goal we had. We drove around and finally found a meter. For those of you who don't know they are free on the weekends, the only test was that I had to parallel park. Something that I haven't done since I took my test. Well I was up for the challenge, and it took me a few tries, good thing that the road wasn't to busy, and after the second or third try I succeeded. So I have to pat my self on the back for a job well done!
