As we begin the year of twenty ten or two thousand and ten I would like to reflect on the year 2009. I have been blessed to have a full time job, even though I have been around more then I can imagine, it is a job that I love (most days). The best thing that happened to me in this past year was that I got engaged. The weekend of April 24 Tyler asked me to marry him that is the best blessing that could have happened. I never considered myself the type of girl to like remodeling projects, but I have been blessed with one. For the past couple of months with the help of my family, and Tyler we have been giving the condo a major new look. It has been tons of work, a lot of Saturday afternoons, but as the first coat of paint (A HUGE THANKS TO SUE) went up in the kitchen and dinning room, I realized why I like it: I like to see a project from start to finish, to know that it was a lot of love that went into it. Even though there is still more painting to be completed, I can finally see the light at the end of tunnel and starting to get more and more excited!
Christmas came and went, it was a lot of fun. Sharing the time with my family and Tyler's family. It is awesome to know that next year me and Tyler will be our own family and celebrate together. The last week of December came in like a crash literally. For those of you who are reading this and have been in my life for a while will know that I have totaled two cars. While make that three now! I am blessed that I am here today cause the other car could have hit me in my door, but instead he hit me by the tire.
I have a feeling 2010 will be a good year. Getting married and seeing the final project finished of the condo. I know that the blessings will continue to flow into the new year!
As the time gets closer to the wedding, I decided to do an update. I now have an example of the inventions and I love them, in a few months we are going to have a girls night and make them. I can't wait it will be a lot of fun. A few weeks ago me and my mom were playing around with Microsoft publisher and made a program, I am not sure if that is what I am going to use or not. I went to Michael's and got a few things to play around with for the table decorations, and I am so excited. The first idea failed, who knew that fake flower petals would sink! My second idea worked. I am going to use glass bowls, with the decorative stones or marbles or whatever you want to call them with a votive candle! The bowls will be sitting on a mirror with either more stones around the mirror or candles.
As with the condo, that has kinda become a stand still progress. Now that the wallpaper is gone, the walls need to become glue free and washed. That is where we are now. Hopefully we will got one more time in before Christmas, if I am lucky maybe twice, we will see if all the walls will be glue free and washed. I just have to keep telling myself that the final project will look amazing!
As January is around the corner, a lot of things still need to be done: tuxes, limo, dress alterations, picking out the food for dinner, flower girl dress and tux for the ring bearer, music, etc..........., not to mention that then it will be time to make the invites, programs, table decorations, name tags, and party favors plus everything in the condo. Oh well it is hard to believe that Christmas is only in about three weeks, and the wedding is only about five months away, it still is hard to believe that I will be getting married to the best man in the world! It seems like yesterday that he was jumping out of closets :).
I don't like change or at least big changes, so as I was celebrating Thanksgiving and I will be celebrating Christmas in about three weeks a few things will be going through my mind. Change number one this is the first year that we aren't celebrating with my Grandpa. He passed away and this is the first holiday season that he isn't here. Change number two this is the last year that I will be living home for the holiday season. When it comes to change it makes me scared and uneasy. As I enjoy the holiday season I have to remember that change isn't all bad. I will finally be celebrating the holidays as a family of my own next year with a new set of traditions even though it will be just be a family of two. So as the holidays user in one more year and if this is a year of change don't let it scare you, let it make you stronger, let it produce awesome memories, and don't forget family is always family no matter where you live, or how many people are included! So I hope that everyone has an awesome Christmas and don't forget to remember the real meaning of Christmas!

Here is an update in the life of Jen. I know that I have been MIA, so here is an update on what is happening in my lovely life.
Update #1: Beach: A few weeks ago when we had that really windy day, me and my mom drove out to the beach. I really wanted to see the waves. The line was longer to get on that night, then it would have been on a 90 degree day, it was huge! Me and my mom finally arrived. It was awesome, it was just a reminder of how powerful God is. Sorry about the layout, I don't know how to fix it, hopefully it will be fixed sometime later night. Here are some pictures of that night.
Update #2: Stripping! Now don't let your minds go there. I mean wallpaper. I have finally started stripping wallpaper in the condo. It is not as bad as I had imagined. It's not fun, but the paper does come off easily. I have a few helpers along the way. My dad as helped, along with my mom, and of course Tyler has also helped. It is fun just to see the process from start to finish. I can't wait until the paper is stripped, the walls painted.
Update #3: I got my dress, that was most excited thing that has happened in the past few weeks. I am in love with it. The best part is the dress is me. Sorry no pictures to be posted, everyone will have to wait for the wedding.
Ever since my Grandpa had passed away a few years ago, me and the women in my family all go shopping. We usually go to Michigan City and two times a year. Once in the fall and once in the spring. We went this past weekend and let me tell you it was a blast. In the years past I had went with my shopping with my cousions, this year I went with my mom, and aunt. I had a personal shopper this year: my aunt! She would pick out clothes for me all the time. Let me tell you she did a good job, I got a bunch of clothes. I got so much stuff that I had to clean out my closet. I got rid of a whole box full of my old clothes, just to fit my new ones in. Lets just say that when it comes to clothes I don't need any for a LONG time!
As the time gets closer for me to start being a wife which duties include cooking, cleaning, and things like that I am trying to embrace all of those things. One of the way I am trying to do that is by my new toy that I got this past weekend. I have to be honest that seeing the commercial for this toy did spark my intrest. I got myself a dyson. For those of you who don't know much about that it is a vacuum, that has a ball. The ball is suppose to make it eaiser to turn around corners, and things like that. Let me tell you it works! I can turn corners like nothing. I also think that it makes the chore of vacuuming go much faster.
At the end of May, my parents took the fam, tyler and mike's best friend on a cruise. I had found a necklace that I had fell in love with. All of the stores that we had looked at were out of it, and I was really sad. I had wanted to wear it at the wedding. A few days ago ty, had sent me a facebook message saying that he found something online and he was really excited. When he told me how excited he was that got me naturally excited. At first he told me it was my Christmas gift. Then he asked me if I could wait til then because he was having a hard time waiting to give it to me. I was really excited, I had no idea what the gift was. Well when we went out on a Saturday night he had the gift in hand. He had told me that it was an I love you present! To my surprise it was the beautiful necklace that we had seen on the cruise. I was so excited! Here is a picture:

The picture is kind of hard to see and it doesn't do the necklace justice. The outside circle is silver, while the inside is gold. The meaning behind the necklace is forever love because of the two circles. I have the best fiance in the world!
This weekend my mom, dad, me, tyler, mike and melissa had so much fun. On Saturday night melissa's church put on something that was called the amazing race. It was really like the show. We had clues that we had to find and different things that we as a team had to do. One of the things that we had to complete was build a bird house, and hit a target with a paint ball gun. Our team came in second to last but we had fun and can't wait until next year! On sunday the whole fam went up to silver lake for the day. We grilled out, and climed the dune! It was really busy they had something that was called a hill climb. That is where different vehicles such as trucks, and dune buggies competed to climb up the hill the fastest. This weekend was such a blast, to bad it went by way to quick! I also got a gift from the best fiance ever that will blogged about at later date!
I love summer, the beach, the long nights, and ice cream! This year was the first year I really "didn't" have a summer. All of my other summers usually consisted of being lazy, and sleeping in this was the first year that I actually had a full time job, so this summer I was working which isn't so bad cause most days I love my job and the money. I love the beach. I enjoy the sand and even the water, so as the summer ends today was the perfect day to go to the beach the last time this season. I also started to remember this summer and how fast it had speed past. This summer I got engaged to the best guy in the world during a weekend trip to Chicago. I also got to enjoy an awesome firework show duing the fourth. So as labor day marks the end of my favorite season I found myself remembering summer pasts. Family vacations to states such as California, Colorado, Ohio, and even the UP. As summer will live on in my heart, because all to quick we will see the not so lovely white stuff on the ground, I want to challenge everyone to think about there summers and what makes the summer as special as it is!
Now today is the day after my b-day so here is the reader's digest version of my big celebration! Every year me and my brother get to pick a place to go out for supper last night I picked a restaurant called Fazoli's. That is one of my favorites for the awesome breadsticks that they have. Before we went out for supper it was time for gifts. I got money and a case for my phone from my parents. I already did have a case, but this one gives more protection. My brother got me a gift card to one of my favorite stores KOHL'S. Tyler got me this really awesome canvas painting!

After we got back from dinner me, Tyler, mom, mike, and Melissa played monopoly, expect this was a ceder point version. I won, Tyler did help! Then cake followed. For anyone who knows me know that I am a really big chocolate freak, so my cake was chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate cake! My mom got the cake from WalMart, it was a really great cake!

I also got a gifts from Tyler's family. From his grandparents I got a gift card to Kohl's. Let the shopping begin! From his aunt I got a receipe book, so I can write receips that I like and put them all in the same book! This will come in handy as I start to cook more and more! From his mom, and two sisters I got a gift card to Hobby Lobby that will come in handy once it comes time for wedding decerations to be bought, and towels, you can never have enough towels! I am also a big dessert fan, so Melissa got me a cook book wih all recepies from Hershey's. I can't wait to start using it! I had a really great 24th birthday!
I decided to start blogging. Just a fyi that my life isn't that interesting, in fact it kinda of boring and nothing exciting happens, but thats ok. That way if anyone wants to read about my life whether my blog is exciting or boring its my life and you are all welcome! Oh by the way today is my birthday, i turn the big 24!
